Why did the Watchtower Society change its literature distribution program in 1990, eliminating set prices for literature items? JWs believe the Governing Body instituted a "simplified" arrangement. Few know the change really took place because Jimmy Swaggart lost his case in court. In a February 21, 1990 letter to congregations, the Society explained the new policy this way: By adopting a method of literature distribution based completely on donation, Jehovah's people are able to greatly simplify our Bible education work and separate ourselves from those who commercialize religion. After 130 years, it still is a publishing house of books, magazines, and tracts. The only difference today is that nobody gets paid. When was the last time anyone was sent out and just preached about the Bible? Why is the ''Watchtower Magazine '' still being read? Why were the old 185-195 page books always offered? .......Maybe because they had too many collecting dust in a warehouse?

WHEN DOES JESUS JUDGE THE SHEEP AND THE GOATS? JULY 2013 WATCHTOWER STUDY
10. In the past, what was our understanding of the timing of the judgment of the sheep and the goats?
10 Consider now the timing of another part of Jesus’ prophecy—the parable of the judgment of the sheep and the goats. (Matt. 25:31-46) Previously, we thought that the judging of people as sheep or goats would take place during the entire period of the last days from 1914 onward. We concluded that those who rejected the Kingdom message and who died before the start of the great tribulation would die as goats—without the hope of a resurrection.
11. Why could the judgment of people as sheep or goats not have started in 1914?
11 In the mid-1990’s, The Watchtower reexamined Matthew 25:31, which states: “When the Son of man arrives in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit down on his glorious throne.” It was noted that Jesus became King of God’s Kingdom in 1914, but he did not “sit down on his glorious throne” as Judge of “all the nations.” (Matt. 25:32; compare Daniel 7:13.) However, the parable of the sheep and the goats describes Jesus primarily as Judge. (Read Matthew 25:31-34,41, 46.) Since Jesus was not yet active as Judge of all nations in 1914, his judgment of people as sheep or goats could not have started in that year. * When, then, will Jesus’ judgment begin?
12. (a) When will Jesus for the first time act as Judge of all nations? (b) What events are described at Matthew 24:30, 31 and Matthew 25:31-33, 46?
12 Jesus’ prophecy about the last days reveals that he will for the very first time act as Judge of all nations after the destruction of false religion. As mentioned in paragraph 8, some of the events that will occur during that time are recorded at Matthew 24:30, 31. When you examine those verses, you will note that Jesus there foretells events that are similar to the ones he mentions in the parable of the sheep and the goats. For example, the Son of man comes with glory and with angels; all tribes and nations are gathered; those judged as sheep “lift [their] heads up” because “everlasting life” awaits them. * Those judged as goats “beat themselves in lamentation,” realizing that “everlasting cutting-off” awaits them.—Matt. 25:31-33, 46.
13. (a) When will Jesus judge the people as sheep or goats? (b) How does this understanding affect our view of our ministry?
13 So, then, what can we conclude? Jesus will judge people of all nations as sheep or goats when he comes during the great tribulation. Then, at Armageddon, the climax of the great tribulation, the goatlike ones will be ‘cut off’ forever. How does that understanding affect our view of our ministry? It helps us to see how important our preaching work is. Until the great tribulation begins, people still have time to change their thinking and start walking on the cramped road “leading off into life.” (Matt. 7:13, 14) To be sure, people may now display a sheeplike or a goatlike disposition. Nevertheless, we should remember that the final judgment of who are sheep and who are goats is during the great tribulation. Therefore, we have good reason for continuing to offer as many people as possible the opportunity to listen to and respond to the Kingdom message.

Here is a typical conversation with a Jehovah's Witness at a door! What was said in this typical conversation with a householder that '' humankind been judged ?''
Witness: Good morning!
All humankind : Good morning to you!
Witness : "Hello. we are affected by many of the same problems—high cost of living, crime, illness—is that not so? . . . Do you feel that there is any real solution to these things?
All humankind : "I’m busy today'' or "I’m not interested in the Jehovah’s Witnesses " or '' I have my own religion '' or '' I don't really know ''
Witness : '' I have a magazine ( the WATCHTOWER MAGAZINE ) which explains these problems. I would like you to read it and maybe in a week or so I will return and discuss this with you and see what the real answer is.''

Three years ago there was a dramatization at my two day assembly. My cousin ( who has been unemployed the last 3 years ) went up on stage pretending that she was a highschool counselor talking to Jehovah's Witness sister who was thinking of going to college in the fall. This was so bad that I promised myself that this would be my last assembly. This dramatization led me to learn that the WTS calculates everything they do to blind their members. I couldn't believe everyone clapped after watching this deadful attack on education.
Two sisters who got up and had a dramatization about a sister not wanting to go to College. I will paraphrase as best as I can.
High School Counselor: ''Have a seat Karen and I will show you all the College applications I have for you.''
Sister: ''Thank you for all the work you have done.''
Counselor: '' I have an application from Harvard,one from Michigan University,and a couple from the East Coast.''
Sister: '' I have done alot of thinking and decided not to go to any College."
Counselor: ''Karen,you have a 4.0 grade average and scored very high on the A.C.T. and you would have no problem getting into any of these schools."
Sister: '' As you know,I'm a Jehovah's Witness and we believe that we are near the ''end times.'' I decided that I will go into the preaching work part time and maybe go to a 2 year school."
Counselor: ''You will probably get into these schools at almost no cost because of your 4.0 average and high A.C.T. scores and have a good career the rest of your life.These are great schools and will prepare you to land a good job.''
Sister: ''This world is passing by and may not be here any longer. I decided to enter the ministry work and Jehovah God will provide for me in the future."
Everyone applauded except me. That was really sad to see!

Prepare for meetings??

if i go i spend a few minutes underlinging my books/watchtower.. i have noticed that those who do the micks especially notice when your stuff is not underlined, and comments are made after the meeting, not so gentle hints, about study and preperation!
in other words i am being told off, its usually the ones who are highly critical of everything i do, sometimes their whole family seems to be straining to see if my stuff is underlined, i know this because i heard the daughter to family wisper her watchtower is not underlined!.

I never read or underlined the Watchtower magazine at home. It was too boring to read it twice. It got so bad in the last couple of years that I would read the NEW YORKER magazine instead. The main article of the NEW YORKER would take up most of the hour.
Here is what happened one time with two young kids around 6 and 4 years old who were sitting in front of me. They would always turn around to see what I was doing. I would make faces to make them laugh.
6 year looks back: '' What are you reading ? '' ( I was reading the NEW YORKER magazine with the Watchtower magazine on the side so it looked like I was reading it )
Me: '' The Watchtower ''
6 year old : " No you're not. That's not the Watchtower magzine"
Me : " Yes it is '' I quickly put the Watchtower magazine over the New Yorker and show him.
6 year old : Taps his mom and tells her " He's not reading the Watchtower. " The mom doesn't pay attention to him.

When was your last Elder, Circuit Overseer, or District Overseer home visit ?
by RULES & REGULATIONS intwo years ago an elder from my old congregation and a new circuit overseer paid me a visit as to why i haven't been to any meetings in some time.. while eating breakfast with my family, the door bell rings around 10:00 a.m. i open the door and find my old congregation elder and the new circuit overseer .
i tell them that this is not a good time to talk and if they can call me on the phone next time they pay me a visit.
( i guess they figure if they call on the phone you won't pick it up but you will answer the door when you're not expecting them ).

Those were funny! I like the Overseer with the heavy book bag leaning and walking sideways. What's in those bags that weigh as much as concrete?
I also like about the Overseer's wife who is so self-righteous that she speaks to no one. Everything and everyone bother her except her kids who are living a double life.

Yes! These are the same Elders who have talks on how members take way too many bathroom breaks but somehow they get up more than others and talk in the lobby or library.

This was me driving into the parking lot and into the Kingdom Hall:
Every week the same brothers and sisters are late getting to the meeting. Elders are talking with other Elders ( who always have notes and folders in their hands). "Brother Kiss Ass " is always around the Elders hoping he'll get more privilages. Shy Brother is sitting down until meeting starts and leaves as soon as meeting ends.
The sisters have way too much perfume and makeup on. Their long dresses make them look Amish. "Brother $2000 suit" and "Brother $200 off the rack suit" both are talking to beautiful sisters (who in the real world would never have a chance but here will marry with no problem).
The sound guy never has the right mix ( too loud or not loud enough ) and sometimes plays the wrong song. Everyone stares at him and laughs.
Everyone takes their seats except a few and have to be reminded again. ( They talk like they haven't seen each other in years).
The opening song is awful and the singing is dreadful. Sister (Opera Singer) always sings the loudest and oversings and wish she would stop soon.
The opening prayer is short as usual by ( Brother Up and Coming). Please bless the Elders is always mentioned.
The 30 minute talk is boring as usual and has been done before 100 times. Everyone claps and as usual the smart ass teen always claps the longest so he and his friends can laugh.
The Watchtower meeting is about the Faithful and Discreet Slave and how they dispense Spiritual Food. Little kids comment ! How cute!
The meeting finally ends!
